O'Brien, Director, Legislative Budget Board     IN RE:HB889 by Naishtat (Relating to examination requirements in certain guardianship matters concerning persons with mental retardation.), As Introduced    No significant fiscal implication to the State is anticipated.  The bill would Probate Code Section 687 to require more specific information in a Certificate of Medical Examination (CME) for guardianship and would allow a CME or a Determination of Mental Retardation for a guardianship of a person alleged to have mental retardation. It is assumed that any costs associated with the implementation can be absorbed within available resources. Local Government Impact No fiscal implication to units of local government is anticipated.
