O'Brien, Director, Legislative Budget Board     IN RE:HB998 by Brown, Fred (Relating to the hearing and final decision of certain occupational licensing contested cases by a State Office of Administrative Hearings administrative law judge.), Committee Report 1st House, Substituted    No significant fiscal implication to the State is anticipated.  The bill would amend the Government Code to give the State Office of Administrative Hearings final decision-making authority in all occupational licensing and enforcement hearings. Based on analysis of the State Office of Administrative Hearings and the Texas Department of License and Regulation, duties and responsibilities associated with implementing the provisions of the bill could be accomplished utilizing existing resources. Local Government Impact No fiscal implication to units of local government is anticipated.
