 CONCURRENT RESOLUTION
 WHEREAS, Memories of a life filled with many joyful times and
 meaningful accomplishments remain to comfort the family and friends
 of Clyde Helms of Paris, who died on March 8, 2009, at the age of 96;
 and
 WHEREAS, Mr. Helms was born in Roxton on October 12, 1912, to
 Stange and Minnie Jones Helms; and
 WHEREAS, He married Iris Rebecca Todd Helms, who preceded him
 in death in 2008, but the 72 years of marriage that they shared is
 eloquent affirmation of the meaning of love and commitment; and
 WHEREAS, For more than three decades, Mr. Helms ran a
 successful car dealership in Paris, and he enjoyed attending South
 Side Baptist Church where he was a member for many years; and
 WHEREAS, While his death has brought sorrow to those who
 cared for him, he will forever hold a treasured place in their
 hearts; now, therefore, be it
 RESOLVED, That the 81st Legislature of the State of Texas
 hereby pay tribute to the life of Clyde Helms and extend sincere
 condolences to the members of his family: to his children, Clydell
 Clark and her husband, Steven, Patsy Dunn and her husband, Richard,
 Carolyn Dunn and her husband, David, Stanley Helms, and Linda
 Burress and her husband, Joe; to his 20 grandchildren, 18
 great-grandchildren, and 2 great-great-grandchildren; and to his
 other relatives and friends; and, be it further
 RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
 prepared for his family and that when the Texas House of
 Representatives and Senate adjourn this day, they do so in memory of
 Clyde Helms.
