No. 1301 R E S O L U T I O N WHEREAS, Family and friends will forever cherish their memories of Paula Sue Lawson of Balch Springs, who passed away on February 5, 2009, at the age of 41; and WHEREAS, A native of Dallas, Ms. Lawson was born on May 30, 1967, to Jackie Lee and Doris Sue Barham; she was the loving wife of husband Billy Edward Lawson and cherished mother of sons B. J. and Bryan; and WHEREAS, Ms. Lawson spent her life in the restaurant industry; she began waiting tables at her grandmother's eatery at an early age and later worked with her mother, who assumed the operation of the family business; Ms. Lawson had recently become the owner of her own restaurant, Paula Sue's Diner, and her friendly manner won her many loyal customers; and WHEREAS, Volunteering in behalf of numerous local civic and community organizations, Ms. Lawson supported activities of the Balch Springs Chamber of Commerce and the Friends of the Balch Springs Library and Learning Center; also an advocate for increasing recreational opportunities for children, she helped raise funds to build Kidstown Park; and WHEREAS, Paula Sue Lawson lived a caring and purposeful life, and she will forever hold a treasured place in the hearts of all those who shared in her love and friendship; now, therefore, be it RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 81st Texas Legislature hereby pay tribute to the life of Paula Sue Lawson and extend deepest sympathy to the members of her family: to her husband, Billy Edward Lawson; to her sons, B. J. and Bryan Lawson; to her mother, Doris Sue Barham, and Troy Mills; to her brother, Scott Barham, and his wife, Misty; to her grandmother, Ruth Smith; and to her other relatives and many friends; and, be it further RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be prepared for her family and that when the Texas House of Representatives adjourns this day, it do so in memory of Paula Sue Lawson.
