H.R. No. 1850
R E S O L U T I O N
WHEREAS, Don and Jeanette Markum of Waco celebrated their
50th wedding anniversary on April 25, 2008, and they may indeed
reflect with joy on the rewarding relationship they have shared;
and
WHEREAS, Mr. and Mrs. Markum exchanged the vows of matrimony
on that special day in 1958, and over the course of their marriage,
they have found in one another a loving life partner; and
WHEREAS, Respected members of Meadowbrook Baptist Church,
Mr. and Mrs. Markum count among their blessings a fine family that
includes two children, Dean and Doug, and three grandchildren, with
whom they share the many special occasions of life; and
WHEREAS, For half a century, Don and Jeanette Markum have
brought to their marriage laughter, kindness, and devotion, and it
is a pleasure to honor them for their enduring commitment; now,
therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 81st Texas
Legislature hereby congratulate Don and Jeanette Markum on reaching
the joyous milestone of their 50th wedding anniversary and extend
to them sincere best wishes for continued happiness; and, be it
further
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
prepared for Mr. and Mrs. Markum as an expression of high regard by
the Texas House of Representatives.
