H.R. No. 1858
R E S O L U T I O N
WHEREAS, Sharing a deep bond of love that has spanned half a
century, David and Ann Cox of Lorena celebrated their 50th wedding
anniversary on January 5, 2008; and
WHEREAS, Mr. and Mrs. Cox exchanged the vows of matrimony on
that day in 1958, and over the course of their marriage, they have
found in each other a devoted life partner; they count among their
blessings a fine family that includes a son, Gary, a daughter, Lori,
and a son-in-law, Rick, with whom they treasure sharing the many
special occasions of life; and
WHEREAS, The Cox family spent some 20 years in the U.S. Air
Force, living in Japan and Thailand, and on a number of American
bases; after retiring from the military in 1976, they returned to
Lorena, where Mr. Cox enjoyed a second career with a major hotel
chain; Mrs. Cox worked with the Lorena United Methodist Church
Child Care Center for 16 years and retired as its director in 1997;
and
WHEREAS, Looking back over the past five decades, David and
Ann Cox can savor a wealth of cherished memories and know that the
strength of their love and commitment ensures that many more joyful
times await them; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 81st Texas
Legislature hereby congratulate David and Ann Cox on their 50th
wedding anniversary and extend to them sincere best wishes for
continued happiness; and, be it further
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
prepared for Mr. and Mrs. Cox as an expression of high regard by the
Texas House of Representatives.
