H.R. No. 1990
R E S O L U T I O N
WHEREAS, April 18, 2009, marked the 60th wedding anniversary
of Louis and Gertrude Bevacqua of Midland, and this joyous event
provides a fitting opportunity to reflect on their memorable
journey together as husband and wife; and
WHEREAS, Louis Bevacqua and the former Gertrude Bjornson were
joined in matrimony in 1949, at a ceremony held at Sacred Heart
Cathedral in Dallas; through the years, they have been blessed with
a treasured family that includes four children, Lucretia Bevacqua,
Louis Bevacqua, Jr., Anna Brewer, and Tony Bevacqua, and two
grandchildren; and
WHEREAS, Before moving to Midland in 1970, the couple lived
in Kansas, Oklahoma, Colorado, New Mexico, Dallas, and Amarillo;
now retired, Mr. Bevacqua was a petroleum geologist and Mrs.
Bevacqua was a registered nurse; they are members of St. Ann's
Catholic Church; and
WHEREAS, The 60 years of marriage that Mr. and Mrs. Bevacqua
have shared is eloquent affirmation of the meaning of love and
commitment, and their enduring union is an inspiration to all who
know them; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 81st Texas
Legislature hereby congratulate Louis and Gertrude Bevacqua on
their 60th anniversary and extend to them sincere best wishes for
continued happiness; and, be it further
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
prepared for Mr. and Mrs. Bevacqua as an expression of high regard
by the Texas House of Representatives.
