No. 2079 R E S O L U T I O N WHEREAS, Gustavo Garza has distinguished himself in more ways than one during his service to the Texas House of Representatives during the 81st Legislative Session; and WHEREAS, Working as a legislative aide for Representative Eddie Rodriguez, Mr. Garza earned the nickname "El Cabrito," or "The Goat," for his astonishing ability to eat anything and everything that came into the office, and when there was nothing left to eat therein, he exhibited a rare aptitude for scavenging food from somewhere else; and WHEREAS, Mr. Garza's social skills proved equally remarkable; he never failed to show up early to a reception or late to work, and in the course of getting to know every Capitol staffer, he was extremely generous in giving away all of the office's delicious cake; he likewise demonstrated an unerring ability to order the most expensive item on a menu, as well as a remarkably cultivated taste in $37 cocktails; and WHEREAS, This remarkable young man's organizational skills consisted in keeping his entire desk, his coworker's desk, and the surrounding floor covered with his work; the desk itself, however, could always be located, from every corner of the office, by the smell of rotting food stashed in the drawers; and WHEREAS, In spite of all of the above, however, Mr. Garza demonstrated true dedication to his work and a genuine interest in learning more about policy issues that were new to him; always helpful, he happily did whatever was asked of him, and he proved throughout the session to be a hard worker and a genuinely good guy; now, therefore, be it RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 81st Texas Legislature hereby commend Gustavo Garza on his service as a legislative aide in the office of Representative Eddie Rodriguez and extend to him sincere best wishes for continued happiness and the requisite success to afford $37 cocktails in the future; and, be it further RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be prepared for Mr. Garza as an expression of high regard by the Texas House of Representatives.
