R E S O L U T I O N
WHEREAS, Debbie Plant and Phillip Manea celebrated the grand
opening of their new business, Wine 101, in Old Town Helotes on
December 13, 2008; and
WHEREAS, The shop offers 101 varieties of wine by the glass
and bottle, as well as a selection of hors d'oeuvres; customers may
enjoy their purchases at the store, which features a caf, cozy
seating, and an outdoor area where they can even play horseshoes;
and
WHEREAS, Ms. Plant, a former Wachovia employee, and Mr.
Manea, who has worked in such diverse fields as computer graphics,
dentistry, and restaurant management, have pooled their talents to
create this innovative retail concept; in addition to food and
drink, they offer interested patrons an informal beginner's class
in wine selection and appreciation; and
WHEREAS, The well-being of the people of Texas depends on
economic prosperity throughout the state, and independent
businesses like Wine 101 that contribute to their local economies
are important contributors to a prosperous future; now, therefore,
be it
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 81st Texas
Legislature hereby congratulate Debbie Plant and Phillip Manea on
the opening of their new business, Wine 101, and extend to them
sincere best wishes for success; and, be it further
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
prepared for Ms. Plant and Mr. Manea as an expression of high regard
by the Texas House of Representatives.
