 R E S O L U T I O N
 WHEREAS, Jamesia Fransaw was honored for her achievements at
 the Reginald Keith Guillory Scholarship Luncheon on April 18, 2009;
 and
 WHEREAS, This gathering recognized 23 students who have
 distinguished themselves through their academic pursuits and civic
 involvement; the awards pay tribute to the memory of Reginald Keith
 Guillory, a student, musician, and member of Mount Pleasant Baptist
 Church in Houston, whose tragic death in an automobile accident at
 the age of 18 prompted area residents to create a scholarship fund;
 and
 WHEREAS, Jamesia Fransaw is the daughter of James Fransaw and
 Delivia Williams; she is an eighth-grade student at Lamar Fleming
 Middle School, where she is a member of the Young Leaders Club and
 captain of the Fleming Vikings cheerleading squad; named history
 class queen, she has often earned a place on the honor roll, and she
 has been recognized for perfect attendance; and
 WHEREAS, Ms. Fransaw has further distinguished herself as an
 usher and as secretary of the Sunday school at New Light Baptist
 Church; and
 WHEREAS, This fine young Texan is an exemplary member of her
 community and a source of tremendous pride to her family and
 teachers, and she may indeed look with anticipation and optimism
 toward the challenges and opportunities that lie ahead; now,
 therefore, be it
 RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 81st Texas
 Legislature hereby congratulate Jamesia Fransaw on being named a
 2009 honoree at the Reginald Keith Guillory Scholarship Luncheon
 and extend to her sincere best wishes for continued success in all
 of her endeavors; and, be it further
 RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
 prepared for Ms. Fransaw as an expression of high regard by the
 Texas House of Representatives.
