 R E S O L U T I O N
 WHEREAS, Residents of Hunt lost a respected fellow citizen
 with the passing of Jack Dell Stone, Sr., on September 1, 2007, at
 the age of 86; and
 WHEREAS, A native of California, Mr. Stone was born on June
 22, 1921, in Los Angeles; during his years at Beverly Hills High
 School, he served as a drum major in the marching band and earned
 his pilot's license; after graduation, he was accepted into the
 prestigious California Institute of Technology, where he earned a
 degree in chemical engineering; and
 WHEREAS, Mr. Stone went on to serve his country in the Pacific
 Theater as a member of the U.S. Navy; at the end of World War II, he
 moved to Houston and gained employment with the Fluor Corporation;
 and
 WHEREAS, He shared more than half a century of marriage with
 his wife, Patricia, with whom he raised four children and was
 further blessed with 13 grandchildren; and
 WHEREAS, In retirement, Mr. Stone relocated to Hunt and
 became active in the Kerrville Bible Church, where he performed
 several service ministries; and
 WHEREAS, Those fortunate enough to have known Jack Stone will
 remember his strong faith and his love of family, community, and
 country; though he will be deeply missed, his memory will live on in
 the hearts of the many people whose lives he touched; now,
 therefore, be it
 RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 81st Texas
 Legislature hereby pay tribute to the life of Jack Dell Stone, Sr.,
 and extend sincere sympathy to the members of his family: to his
 wife, Patricia Conway Stone; to his sons, Jack Stone, Jr., and his
 wife, Kathy, Patrick Stone and his wife, Sonya, and Bill Stone and
 his wife, Janelle; to his daughter, Jennifer Rose and her husband,
 Scott; to his 13 grandchildren; to his brother, Glen; and to his
 other relatives and friends; and, be it further
 RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
 prepared for his family and that when the Texas House of
 Representatives adjourns this day, it do so in memory of Jack Dell
 Stone, Sr.
