 R E S O L U T I O N
 WHEREAS, The friends and family of U.S. Army Sergeant Randell
 Olguin suffered an immeasurable loss with the death of this valiant
 soldier on September 30, 2007, at the age of 24; and
 WHEREAS, Assigned to the 1st Squadron, 2nd Stryker Cavalry
 Regiment, based in Vilseck, Germany, Sergeant Olguin was mortally
 wounded while bravely serving his second tour of duty in Iraq; and
 WHEREAS, Born on August 2, 1983, in Orlando, Florida, Randy
 Olguin graduated in 2003 from Ralls High School, where he played
 football for four years and was an all-district honorable mention
 baseball player, a regional qualifier in cross-country, and a
 member of the band, and where he also played basketball; he
 subsequently enlisted in the army; and
 WHEREAS, Sergeant Olguin met his future wife, Anna Hammer, in
 Germany, and the couple were married on December 22, 2005, in Ralls;
 and
 WHEREAS, Exemplifying the highest ideals of the U.S. armed
 forces, Randy Olguin inspired others with his fortitude and
 courage; although his passing has left a void in the lives of those
 who were fortunate enough to know him, they will forever carry his
 memory close in their hearts; now, therefore, be it
 RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 81st Texas
 Legislature hereby pay tribute to the life of Randell Olguin and
 extend deepest sympathy to the members of his family: to his wife,
 Anna; to his parents, Senaido and Gail Olguin; to his siblings, Jose
 Olguin, Jennie Morin, Anita Baker, and Janet Rios; to his
 grandmother, Virginia Bowen; to his mother-in-law, Elfriede
 Hammer; and to his other relatives and many friends; and, be it
 further
 RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
 prepared for his family and that when the Texas House of
 Representatives adjourns this day, it do so in memory of U.S. Army
 Sergeant Randell Olguin.
