H.R. No. 2742
R E S O L U T I O N
WHEREAS, Friends and family are mourning the loss of Cecilia
Trujillo Alvarado of Clint, who passed away on May 1, 2009, at the
age of 67; and
WHEREAS, The former Cecilia Trujillo was born on February 23,
1942, to Abelardo and Aurora Trujillo; she married Nacho Alvarado
in 1962, and the couple shared 46 rewarding years of matrimony,
raising a loving family that included two sons, Al and Jaime, and a
granddaughter, Taylor; and
WHEREAS, Mrs. Alvarado worked as a substitute teacher for the
Clint Independent School District and served as an elections judge
for more than 20 years; known as "Chila" to those closest to her,
Mrs. Alvarado believed strongly in traditional family values, and
she expressed her deep commitment to her spiritual faith as a member
of San Lorenzo Catholic Church; and
WHEREAS, Cecilia Alvarado touched the lives of everyone she
met, and the image of this devoted wife, mother, and grandmother
preparing wonderful meals for her loved ones is among the memories
that will forever be treasured by those who held her dear; now,
therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 81st Texas
Legislature hereby pay tribute to the life of Cecilia Trujillo
Alvarado and extend sincere sympathy to the members of her family:
to her husband, Nacho Alvarado; to her sons, Nacho "Al" Alvarado,
Jr., and Jaime Alvarado; to her granddaughter, Taylor Alvarado; to
her siblings, Efren Trujillo, Julie Valenzuela, and Aurora Solis;
and to her other relatives and friends; and, be it further
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
prepared for her family and that when the Texas House of
Representatives adjourns this day, it do so in memory of Cecilia
Trujillo Alvarado.
