R E S O L U T I O N
WHEREAS, Citizens of Nueces County are celebrating Marriage
Week from February 9 to 14, 2009; and
WHEREAS, This noteworthy event provides an opportunity for
area Texans to acknowledge the importance of healthy marriages to
the strength and well-being of families, communities, and this
state; and
WHEREAS, The 2009 observance of Marriage Week will begin with
a celebration in which married couples demonstrate their affection
and loyalty for one another by renewing their vows; and
WHEREAS, Marriage Week in Nueces County offers citizens a
fitting occasion to appreciate the benefits of marriage and to
acknowledge the importance of healthy marriages to society; now,
therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 81st Texas
Legislature hereby recognize February 9 to 14, 2009, as Marriage
Week in Nueces County and extend to all participants sincere best
wishes for a memorable event.
