No. 2977 R E S O L U T I O N WHEREAS, Young people who give of their time and talents to assist in the demanding work of the Texas Legislature are truly deserving of our gratitude and admiration; and WHEREAS, During the 81st Legislative Session, the office of State Representative Jerry Madden has benefited from the efforts of Jillian Arizpe, a prelaw political science major at Texas A&M University; Chelsea Belote, a prelaw political communication studies major at The University of Texas at Austin; Deirdre Dawson, a student at The University of Texas LBJ School of Public Affairs; Rebecca Hopkins of The University of Texas LBJ School of Public Affairs; Diane Huynh, a pre-MBA student at Austin Community College; Collin Juergens, a premed psychology major at The University of Texas at Dallas; Garrett Larsen, a premed electrical engineering major at The University of Texas at Dallas; Samantha McLane, a history major at Texas State University; Ashley Nwonuma, a prelaw history major at The University of Texas at Austin; Second Class Petty Officer Nicholas Raymond of the U.S. Navy, a government major at Austin Community College; Amanda Rockow, an honorary intern; and Sean Stumpf, a political science and German major at Southwestern University; and WHEREAS, These diligent and resourceful interns have skillfully handled a variety of duties in the representative's office and ably assisted with meeting the needs of constituents; in so doing, they have gained valuable work experience and firsthand knowledge of the legislative process, while developing insight into the important issues facing our communities and our state; now, therefore, be it RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 81st Texas Legislature honor the legislative interns serving in the office of State Representative Jerry Madden for their service and extend to them sincere best wishes for the future; and, be it further RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be prepared for the interns as an expression of high regard by the Texas House of Representatives.
