R E S O L U T I O N
WHEREAS, Stephanie Bautista of Del Norte Heights Elementary
School in El Paso has been named a 2009 Safety Patrol Student of the
Year; and
WHEREAS, For more than a half-century, the El Paso Police
Department has coordinated the Safety Patrol program, and each
year, exceptional student safety officers are selected from area
schools as part of the student-of-the year initiative sponsored by
the Downtown Lions Club; and
WHEREAS, The daughter of Nancy and Gary Bautista, Stephanie
Bautista is in the fifth grade at Del Norte Heights, where she is an
A-B honor roll student and enjoys studying mathematics; moreover,
she is a band performer, a Girl Scout, and a talented athlete who
participates in basketball and cheerleading; and
WHEREAS, This outstanding young Texan has learned the values
of dedication, respect, and responsibility through her involvement
in the Safety Patrol, and she may take great pride in the
contribution she has made to her school; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 81st Texas
Legislature hereby congratulate Stephanie Bautista on being named a
Safety Patrol Student of the Year at Del Norte Heights Elementary
School and extend to her sincere best wishes for the future; and, be
it further
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
prepared for Ms. Bautista as an expression of high regard by the
Texas House of Representatives.
