 R E S O L U T I O N
 WHEREAS, Derek Bull of Highlands Ranch, Colorado, celebrated
 a significant milestone in his life on May 21, 2009, when he
 graduated from Mountain Vista High School; and
 WHEREAS, Born on January 9, 1991, Derek Bull attended Platte
 River Academy and later Mountain Ridge Middle School; over the
 course of his education, he has excelled academically even while
 taking advanced placement classes; he has also been engaged in
 numerous extracurricular activities, including the Student
 Advisory Group and Link Crew, and he served as president of Future
 Business Leaders of America during his senior year; and
 WHEREAS, A talented athlete as well, Mr. Bull participated in
 football, swimming, diving, wrestling, and the Climbing Club, and
 he has worked as a lifeguard at the Highlands Ranch Community
 Association Recreation Center, Southridge, for several years;
 moreover, he has dedicated himself to such community service
 projects as the landscaping of the Highlands Ranch Library and the
 Race for the Cure fund-raiser, and he has volunteered as an usher at
 St. Mary's Church; and
 WHEREAS, This fine young man is a source of tremendous pride
 to his family, including his parents, Robert and Cheryl Bull, and
 his grandparents, Julian and Audrey Bull and Representative Bill
 Callegari and Ann Callegari; in the fall, Mr. Bull is relocating to
 the Lone Star State to attend Texas A&M University, where he will
 join the Corps of Cadets as a recipient of one of the prestigious
 Sul Ross Scholarships; he plans to major in international studies;
 and
 WHEREAS, Derek Bull has demonstrated commitment, hard work,
 and perseverance in the pursuit of his goals, and he may indeed look
 with optimism toward a bright and promising future; now, therefore,
 be it
 RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 81st Texas
 Legislature hereby congratulate Derek Bull on his graduation from
 Mountain Vista High School and extend to him sincere best wishes for
 continued success in all of his endeavors; and, be it further
 RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
 prepared for Mr. Bull as an expression of high regard by the Texas
 House of Representatives.
