R E S O L U T I O N
WHEREAS, James McKee Lyon and Carolyn Jean Lyon of San
Antonio celebrated their 40th wedding anniversary on July 14, 2008,
and they may indeed reflect with joy on the rewarding relationship
they have shared; and
WHEREAS, Mr. and Mrs. Lyon exchanged the vows of matrimony at
Tinker Air Force Base Chapel in Oklahoma on that special day in
1968, and over the course of their marriage, they have found in one
another a loving life partner; and
WHEREAS, This devoted couple count among their blessings a
fine family that includes three daughters and two sons-in-law, Lori
Smith and her husband, Darrin, Jayme Patrick and her husband,
Michael, and Jennifer Neuman, as well as four grandchildren,
Madeline, Garrett, Audrey, and Aidan; and
WHEREAS, Both Mr. and Mrs. Lyon are employed at Lackland Air
Force Base; for 32 years, Mr. Lyon served his nation as a member of
the U.S. Air Force, and he retired from active duty in 1998; and
WHEREAS, Looking back over the past four decades, Jim and
Carolyn Lyon can savor a wealth of cherished family memories and
know that the strength of their love and commitment ensures that
many more joyful times await them; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 81st Texas
Legislature hereby congratulate James and Carolyn Lyon on the
occasion of their 40th wedding anniversary and extend to them
sincere best wishes for continued happiness; and, be it further
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
prepared for Mr. and Mrs. Lyon as an expression of high regard by
the Texas House of Representatives.
