R E S O L U T I O N
WHEREAS, Assistant Superintendent Rick Martinez of the
Southwest Independent School District has been selected by the
Texas Computer Education Association to receive the organization's
2008 Lifetime Achievement for the Advancement of Technology in
Education Award; and
WHEREAS, One of eight TCEA honors presented each year, the
Lifetime Achievement Award recognizes an educator who has worked
tirelessly to advance the use of technology in schools and who has
more than two decades of experience in education; and
WHEREAS, Mr. Martinez earned the commendation for his
outstanding track record in technology program development and
management over the course of his career; and
WHEREAS, Technology is of ever-increasing importance to
students in the information age, and the exceptional work carried
out by Rick Martinez has had a lasting positive influence on the
educational capabilities of the Southwest Independent School
District; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 81st Texas
Legislature hereby congratulate Rick Martinez on receiving the 2008
Lifetime Achievement for the Advancement of Technology in Education
Award from the Texas Computer Education Association and extend to
him sincere best wishes for continued success; and, be it further
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
prepared for Mr. Martinez as an expression of high regard by the
Texas House of Representatives.
