R E S O L U T I O N
WHEREAS, BEST Leadership is celebrating its fifth
anniversary in 2009, and this occasion provides a fitting
opportunity to honor this notable organization; and
WHEREAS, Sponsored by the Bastrop, Elgin, and Smithville
Chambers of Commerce, BEST Leadership provides opportunities for
participants to increase their knowledge of vital public issues and
to meet with the leaders who are making decisions that affect their
communities; and
WHEREAS, Sessions throughout the yearlong program are
designed to acquaint participants with local issues and to
encourage them to become vigorous, skilled, and effective leaders
who will contribute to the future growth and direction of their
communities; and
WHEREAS, Endeavoring to foster a more informed and involved
citizenry, BEST Leadership is helping to build a brighter and more
promising future for the Lone Star State; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 81st Texas
Legislature hereby honor BEST Leadership on the fifth anniversary
of its founding and extend to all participants sincere best wishes
for continued success; and, be it further
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
prepared for BEST Leadership as an expression of high regard by the
Texas House of Representatives.
