No. 585 R E S O L U T I O N WHEREAS, The Texas Leadership Institute has served as a vital and valued resource for Texas communities for more than a decade; and WHEREAS, TLI was created in 1995 to enhance the ability of small and medium-sized cities to plan for sustainable economic activity by building a team of trained leaders; in partnership with local, state, and national groups, the organization has provided training and technical assistance to more than 13,000 people, including elected public officials and business and community leaders; and WHEREAS, The success of the institute's approach to contemporary issues is due in large part to the diversity and talent of its participants and to the expertise of such notable partners as the Lower Colorado River Authority, the Texas AgriLife Extension Service, the V. G. Young Institute of County Government, the Texas Association of Counties, the Texas Economic Development Council, Texas Rural Innovators Forum, the Perryman Group, Texas Healthcare Trustees, County Judges & Commissioners Association of Texas, Texas Association of Regional Councils, the John Ben Shepperd Public Leadership Institute, Texas Electric Cooperatives, and numerous colleges, universities, and other organizations; and WHEREAS, Endeavoring to foster a more informed and involved citizenry, the Texas Leadership Institute is helping to build a brighter and more promising future for the Lone Star State; now, therefore, be it RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 81st Texas Legislature hereby recognize the Texas Leadership Institute for its outstanding contributions to communities across the state and extend to all those associated with the organization sincere best wishes for continued success; and, be it further RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be prepared for the Texas Leadership Institute as an expression of high regard by the Texas House of Representatives.
