R E S O L U T I O N
WHEREAS, Jay Brewer of Graham was voted the Daisy "Take Aim at
Safety" Most Valuable Player at the 2008 Professional Bullfighters
Daisy Protection Bullfight World Championships; and
WHEREAS, A member of Team Mann Creek Buck-N-Bulls, Mr. Brewer
demonstrated an extraordinary determination to succeed when he
persevered to finish the competition despite serious injuries; and
WHEREAS, Though he tweaked a hurt knee in the first round of
the event, Mr. Brewer continued on through five additional rounds;
he bested many of his competitors, earning second place in the final
standings, and won the respect and admiration of his peers along the
way; and
WHEREAS, With his performance at the world championships, Jay
Brewer has proven himself to have the heart of a champion and the
grit of a cowboy in the finest Texas tradition; now, therefore, be
it
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 81st Texas
Legislature hereby congratulate Jay Brewer on earning the Daisy
"Take Aim at Safety" Most Valuable Player award and extend to him
sincere best wishes for a swift and full recovery; and, be it
further
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
prepared for Mr. Brewer as an expression of high regard by the Texas
House of Representatives.
