O'Brien, Director, Legislative Budget Board     IN RE:SB1218 by Averitt (Relating to the collection of data by the Texas Department of Transportation regarding bridge collapses.), As Introduced    No significant fiscal implication to the State is anticipated.  The bill would amend the Transportation Code to require the Texas Department of Transportation (TxDOT) to include in its accident reports information regarding the number of fatalities caused by a bridge collapse. Based on the analysis of TxDOT, it is assumed any costs or duties associated with implementing the provisions of the bill could be absorbed within existing resources.
