O'Brien, Director, Legislative Budget Board     IN RE:SB1304 by Patrick, Dan (relating to notice to students of a public institution of higher education of the required use of a portion of the tuition paid by the student to provide student financial aid.), Committee Report 1st House, Substituted    No significant fiscal implication to the State is anticipated.  The bill would require institutions of higher education that set aside a portion of designated tuition to provide financial assistance for students enrolled in the institution, to provide to each student who pays tuition from which a portion is required to be set aside for that purpose, a notice of the amount of the tuition paid by the student that is required to be set aside. The Higher Education Coordinating Board would prescribe minimum standards for the manner, form, and content of the notice. Provisions of the bill would be implemented within existing resources. Local Government Impact No fiscal implication to units of local government is anticipated.
