O'Brien, Director, Legislative Budget Board     IN RE:SB1367 by Carona (Relating to parking placard or specialty license plate applications by persons with a mobility problem caused by an impairment of vision.), Committee Report 1st House, Substituted    No significant fiscal implication to the State is anticipated.  The bill would amend the Transportation Code to authorize a person who is a licensed to practice optometry or therapeutic optometry in Texas to provide the required written statement for an initial application for a specialty license plate for persons with disabilities or an initial application for a disabled parking placard made by or on behalf of a person who is legally blind. Based on the analysis of the Texas Department of Transportation, it is assumed any costs or duties associated with implementing the provisions of the bill could be absorbed within existing resources.
