The bill would amend the Family Code relating to the powers of an associate judge in a Title IV-D case. The bill would provide associate judges with new powers in Title IV-D cases in hearing certain postjudgment orders that may result in a minimal decrease in workloads for the elected judiciary. To the extent the bill would amend court procedures, no significant decrease in judicial workloads or fiscal implication to the State is anticipated. The bill would take effect September 1, 2009. Local Government Impact No significant fiscal implication to units of local government is anticipated.
