The bill amend the Transportation Code to require the Texas Transportation Commission (TTC) to create the Texas High-speed Rail Corporation. The bill would authorize TTC to direct the corporation to plan and develop a high-speed rail facility; solicit federal funding to be allocated to the Texas Department of Transportation (TxDOT) for the purposes of the bill; coordinate with federal planners and representatives from adjacent states and represent and negotiate on behalf of this state for the interconnectivity of high-speed rail systems with other existing and planned transportation systems.
