O'Brien, Director, Legislative Budget Board     IN RE:SB1654 by Van de Putte (Relating to the criteria for evaluating requests for defense economic adjustment assistance grants.), As Engrossed    No significant fiscal implication to the State is anticipated.  The bill would require the Defense Economic Adjustment Assistance Panel to evaluate each application for a Defense Economic Adjustment Assistance Grant to assign the applicant a score based on certain criteria to include anticipated number of jobs retained.  The bill would take effect immediately if it receives two-thirds votes or on September 1, 2009.
