O'Brien, Director, Legislative Budget Board     IN RE:SB1676 by Hinojosa (Relating to fees charged by certain counties near international borders for issuing certain utility certificates.), As Engrossed    No fiscal implication to the State is anticipated.  The bill would amend the Local Government Code to authorize the commissioners court of certain counties to impose a fee for a certificate issued under Section 232.029 for a subdivision that is located in the county and not within the limits of a municipality. The fee may be no greater than $30 or the amount of the fee imposed by the municipality for a subdivision that is located entirely in the municipality's extraterritorial jurisdiction. Local Government Impact The section of  Local Government Code that would be changed applies to counties within 50 miles of the Texas-Mexico border and to Nueces County.
