As proposed, S.B. 1712 grants the board of hospital managers of the Matagorda County Hospital District the authority to enter into lease agreements with a maximum term of 99 years. Amends Section 1057.107(b), Special District Local Laws Code, as follows: Sec. 1057.106. LEASES. (a) Makes no changes to this subsection. (b) Prohibits the term of a lease under this section (regarding the lease of certain district property by the board of managers of the Matagorda Count Hospital District) from exceeding 99, rather than 25, years. EFFECTIVE DATE Effective date: upon passage or September 1, 2009.
