This provision makes it difficult for the district to enter into lease agreements. S.B. 1712 amends current law relating to the authority of the Matagorda County Hospital District of Matagorda County, Texas, to lease property. RULEMAKING AUTHORITY This bill does not expressly grant any additional rulemaking authority to a state officer, institution, or agency. SECTION BY SECTION ANALYSIS SECTION 1. Amends Section 1057.106, Special District Local Laws Code, as follows: Sec. 1057.106. LEASES. (a) Makes no changes to this subsection. (b) Prohibits the term of a lease under this section (regarding the lease of certain district property by the board of managers of the Matagorda Count Hospital District) from exceeding 99, rather than 25, years. SECTION 2. Effective date: upon passage or September 1, 2009.
