The bill would amend the Civil Practice and Remedies Code relating to the use of a confidential identity for the plaintiff in a civil action involving sexual abuse of a minor. The bill would provide the option for a minor plaintiff or the plaintiff's parent or legal guardian in a civil case based on sexual assault or aggravated sexual assault to use a pseudonym and to ensure the absence of any identifying information in the case. To the extent the bill would amend court procedure, the rules change is not anticipated to change the workload of the court system.
