The bill would require the State Preservation Board to establish a Tejano memorial monument on the south lawn of the Capitol grounds. The bill would take effect immediately if it receives a vote of two-thirds of all the members elected to each house, otherwise, the bill would take effect September 1, 2009. It is assumed that any additional duties and responsibilities required by the bill could be absorbed using existing resources. Local Government Impact No fiscal implication to units of local government is anticipated.
