O'Brien, Director, Legislative Budget Board     IN RE:SB2285 by Lucio (Relating to financial assistance by the Texas Water Development Board for the connection of residences in economically distressed areas to public water supply and sanitary sewer systems.), As Engrossed    No significant fiscal implication to the State is anticipated.  The bill would amend the Water Code to provide the Water Development Board (TWDB) the authority to provide financial assistance from the Economically Distressed Areas Account for the costs associated with the initial connection to a public water supply and sanitary sewer systems of residences that otherwise benefit from financial assistance.   TWDB anticipates that any costs associated with this bill could be absorbed within the agencys existing resources.   The bill would take effect September 1, 2009.
