O'Brien, Director, Legislative Budget Board IN RE:SB2329 by Hegar (Relating to abolition of the Edwards Aquifer Legislative Oversight Committee.), As Engrossed No significant fiscal implication to the State is anticipated. The bill would abolish the Edwards Aquifer Legislative Oversight Committee and would transfer the committee's responsibility for annually reviewing the Edwards Aquifer Authority's 20-year plan to the standing committees of the senate and house of representatives that have primary jurisdiction over natural resources. The oversight committee is composed of members of both houses of the legislature and is required to examine and report on the effectiveness of the state and local governmental entities regarding the Edwards Aquifer Authority. The committee is also required to provide oversight and review of activities related to the authority. It is anticipated that any savings from abolishing the committee would be insignificant. Local Government Impact No fiscal implication to units of local government is anticipated.
