Rose, Chair, House Committee on Human Services FROM: John S. O'Brien, Director, Legislative Budget Board IN RE:SB2435 by Uresti (Relating to medical assistance program reimbursement for guardianship expenses of certain recipients.), As Engrossed No significant fiscal implication to the State is anticipated. Health and Human Services Commission (HHSC) indicated that while the limitations prescribed in the bill would be a savings to the General Revenue state match for Medicaid, the HHSC was unable to determine the amount of the savings as the bill does not require judges to order reimbursement and the amounts that may be reimbursed are ceilings; therefore, HHSC assumed that reimbursement amounts could be lower. It is assumed that any costs associated with the implementation can be absorbed within available resources. Local Government Impact No fiscal implication to units of local government is anticipated.
