O'Brien, Director, Legislative Budget Board IN RE:SB329 by Carona (Relating to the automatic suspension of the driver's license of a person convicted of certain organized crime offenses; providing penalties.), As Introduced No significant fiscal implication to the State is anticipated. The bill would amend the Transportation Code to automatically suspend the driver's license of a person convicted of an organized crime offense under Chapter 71, Penal Code. The bill would make the operation of a motor vehicle on a highway during a period that the person's driver's license was suspended under Section 521.352, Transportation Code, a state jail felony. The bill would take effect on September 1, 2009. This analysis assumes that implementing the provisions of the bill would not pose a significant fiscal impact to the state.
