The bill would amend the Family Code to add some facts for a court to consider when determining whether there is a risk of international abduction of a child by a parent. No increase in judicial workloads or fiscal implication to the State is anticipated. The bill would take immediate effect if the bill receives two-thirds the vote of all members. Otherwise, the bill would take effect September 1, 2009. Local Government Impact No increase in judicial workloads or fiscal implication to units of local government is anticipated.
