The bill would amend the Transportation Code to prohibit the disclosure or use of vehicle speed information collected by a transponder (toll tag) for the purpose of enforcing or prosecuting an offense under the Transportation Code where vehicle speed was a factor. The Texas Department of Transportation (TxDOT) has indicated that its toll tags and tag readers currently do not collect vehicle speed information.
