O'Brien, Director, Legislative Budget Board     IN RE:SB887 by Nelson (Relating to the licensing and regulation of dentists, dental hygienists, dental assistants, and dental laboratories; providing penalties.), Committee Report 1st House, Substituted    No significant fiscal implication to the State is anticipated.  The bill would amend Section 252 of the Occupations Code regarding who is eligible to serve on the Board of Dental Examiners. The bill would establish an alternative informal assessment of administrative penalties and new criminal penalty definitions. The bill would require the Texas State Board of Dental Examiners to adopt rules to implement these provisions.  The Texas State Board of Dental Examiners anticipates any additional work resulting from the passage of the bill could be reasonably absorbed within current resources.
