O'Brien, Director, Legislative Budget Board     IN RE:SB897 by Shapleigh (Relating to certain reporting requirements in connection with the transportation of hazardous materials by a railroad company.), As Engrossed    No significant fiscal implication to the State is anticipated.  The bill would amend Civil Statute Article 6419c concerning movements of hazardous materials by railroads. The bill would require the Texas Department of Transportation (TxDOT) to distribute information compiled from certain hazardous material shipment reports to Metropolitan Planning Organizations. Based on the analysis of TxDOT, it is assumed any costs or duties associated with implementing the provisions of the bill could be absorbed within existing resources. Local Government Impact No fiscal implication to units of local government is anticipated.
