O'Brien, Director, Legislative Budget Board     IN RE:SJR55 by Carona (Proposing a constitutional amendment providing that the holdover provision of the Texas Constitution does not apply to a member of the Texas Transportation Commission.), As Introduced    No fiscal implication to the State is anticipated, other than the cost of publication.  The cost to the state for publication of the resolution is $90,882.  The resolution would propose an amendment to Section 17, Article XVI of the Texas Constitution to specify that a member of the Texas Transportation Commission whose term has expired may not continue to perform the duties of a member of the commission, and a vacancy would be created in that members position.  The proposed amendment would be submitted to the voters at an election to be held November 3, 2009. Local Government Impact No fiscal implication to units of local government is anticipated.
