SENATE RESOLUTION NO. 1039 WHEREAS, The Senate of the State of Texas is pleased to recognize G. Edward Pickle, who is retiring after nearly 25 years of outstanding service with Shell Oil Company; and WHEREAS, A graduate of the Georgetown University Law Center, Mr. Pickle is Shell Oil Company's senior government affairs counsel, in which capacity he has had nationwide responsibility for managing and promoting civil justice reform activities affecting the company; he previously served as associate general counsel for litigation; and WHEREAS, Throughout his career, Mr. Pickle has been known for his superior litigation skills and analytical expertise; as a law clerk with the United States Department of Justice and the Fifth Circuit Court of Appeals, during his service with the Judge Advocate General's Corps of the United States Navy, and in private practice, he has been dedicated and steadfast in carrying out his duties; and WHEREAS, Talented and resourceful, Mr. Pickle has handled his many responsibilities with exceptional efficiency and commitment; he is also active in civic affairs, working with the Boy Scouts of America and serving in his church and on numerous boards and committees, including the executive committee of the Republican Party of Harris County; and WHEREAS, An exemplary attorney, Mr. Pickle is respected and admired by his colleagues, and his presence at Shell Oil Company will be greatly missed; now, therefore, be it RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 81st Legislature, hereby commend G. Edward Pickle on his outstanding legal career and extend to him best wishes for continued success in his future endeavors; and, be it further RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared for him as an expression of esteem from the Texas Senate.
