A BILL TO BE ENTITLED
AN ACT
relating to the maintenance tax rate of the Brazoria County
Conservation and Reclamation District Number Three.
BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS:
SECTION 1. Section 36A, Chapter 307, Acts of the 61st
Legislature, Regular Session, 1969, is amended to read as follows:
Sec. 36A. Notwithstanding the district charter, other
provisions of this Act, or other laws, the commissioners by
majority vote shall set a tax rate for maintenance taxes levied and
collected by the district not to exceed 20 [15] cents on each $100
of assessed valuation.
SECTION 2. This Act takes effect immediately if it receives
a vote of two-thirds of all the members elected to each house, as
provided by Section 39, Article III, Texas Constitution. If this
Act does not receive the vote necessary for immediate effect, this
Act takes effect September 1, 2011.
