                    LEGISLATIVE BUDGET BOARD    Austin, Texas      FISCAL NOTE, 82ND LEGISLATIVE REGULAR SESSION            March 20, 2011      TO: Honorable Veronica Gonzales, Chair, House Committee on Border & Intergovernmental Affairs      FROM: John S O'Brien, Director, Legislative Budget Board     IN RE:HB1254 by Pickett (Relating to consideration of the consolidation of school district peace officers and security personnel in certain counties.), As Introduced    No significant fiscal implication to the State is anticipated. The Comptroller estimates they may have cost associated with this bill for the oversight of consultants to conduct the audits of the school districts in a county affected by this bill. It is anticipated that any additional costs associated with implementation of the legislation could be absorbed within existing resources.   Local Government Impact No significant fiscal implication to units of local government is anticipated.  There may be some administrative costs to the affected school districts to review the audits, conduct discussions, and develop and submit a report to the commissioner of education.
