The bill would amend the Insurance Code relating to the Office of Public Insurance Counsels authority to initiate a hearing on or object to insurance rates or rate filings. Based on the analysis by the Texas Department of Insurance and the Office of Public Insurance Counsel, it is assumed that all duties and responsibilities associated with implementing the provisions of the bill could be accomplished by utilizing existing resources.
