                    LEGISLATIVE BUDGET BOARD    Austin, Texas      FISCAL NOTE, 82ND LEGISLATIVE REGULAR SESSION            March 18, 2011      TO: Honorable Garnet Coleman, Chair, House Committee on County Affairs      FROM: John S O'Brien, Director, Legislative Budget Board     IN RE:HB1360 by Coleman (Relating to the regulation of off-premise signs in the unincorporated area of a county.), As Introduced    No fiscal implication to the State is anticipated.  The bill would amend the Local Government Code to authorize a commissioners court of a county to prohibit off-premise signs along roads in the unincorporated area of a county, but could not require the removal of existing signs before the effective date of the bill. Prior to the issuance of an order, the commissioners court would be required to hold a public hearing and publish a notice of the hearing in a newspaper.
