A BILL TO BE ENTITLED
AN ACT
relating to authorizing the sale of certain state land along the
Canadian River bed.
BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS:
SECTION 1. (a) As soon as practical, the asset management
division of the General Land Office shall offer for sale the real
property described by Subsection (c) of this section. Except as
provided by this section, a sale under this section shall be
conducted as provided by Section 31.158, Natural Resources Code.
(b) The General Land Office is not required to offer the
School Land Board the first option to purchase the real property
described by Subsection (c) of this section.
(c) The real property that must be offered for sale under
this section is all real property owned by the state along the
Canadian River bed in Roberts and Hemphill Counties that the asset
management division determines is not accessible by public road.
SECTION 2. This Act takes effect immediately if it receives
a vote of two-thirds of all the members elected to each house, as
provided by Section 39, Article III, Texas Constitution. If this
Act does not receive the vote necessary for immediate effect, this
Act takes effect September 1, 2011.
