                    LEGISLATIVE BUDGET BOARD    Austin, Texas      FISCAL NOTE, 82ND LEGISLATIVE REGULAR SESSION            March 29, 2011      TO: Honorable Dan Branch, Chair, House Committee on Higher Education      FROM: John S O'Brien, Director, Legislative Budget Board     IN RE:HB1420 by Price (Relating to limitations on the number of courses that students may drop under certain circumstances at certain public institutions of higher education.), As Introduced    No significant fiscal implication to the State is anticipated.  The bill relates to limitations on the number of courses students may drop under certain circumstances at certain public institutions of higher education. The bill clarifies existing language by specifically naming "general academic teaching institution" and "medical and dental unit", instead of "institution of higher education". Provisions of the bill would be implemented within existing resources. Local Government Impact No fiscal implication to units of local government is anticipated.
