                    LEGISLATIVE BUDGET BOARD    Austin, Texas      FISCAL NOTE, 82ND LEGISLATIVE REGULAR SESSION            March 27, 2011      TO: Honorable Sid Miller, Chair, House Committee on Homeland Security & Public Safety      FROM: John S O'Brien, Director, Legislative Budget Board     IN RE:HB1463 by Kleinschmidt (Relating to the application of certain concealed handgun license laws to statewide elected officials and certain current and former members of the legislature.), As Introduced    No significant fiscal implication to the State is anticipated.  The bill would amend the Penal Code to establish an exception to an offense relating to the possession of a concealed handgun license if the person at the time of the offense was a statewide elected official or a member of the Legislature. The subsection would expire on September 1, 2020. The bill would take effect September 1, 2011.
